The Viewsonic XG2401 is among three high refresh rate monitors that have been announced by Viewsonic to start their XG series at CES 2016. It has a 1080p resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, TN panel, a static contrast ratio of 1000:1, and includes AMD’s FreeSync technology. Freesync helps avoid any stuttering or screen tearing that you encounter by matching the graphics card frame rate and the monitor. The Viewsonic XG2701, the 27 inch version, is also available. It sports the same specs including the resolution so beware of the decrease in pixel density.
The display as previously mentioned the Viewsonic XG2401 has a TN panel and it has a 3H anti-glare hard-coated surface meaning that you won’t have to deal with any reflective annoyances while you’re using it. Among the nifty features that ViewSonic has included, is a Game Mode and Black Stabilization technology which gives the user better on screen visibility and detail by brightening dark areas. This can be incredibly useful when gaming and you won’t have to resort to fiddling with brightness levels. The monitor has a 1ms response time and includes a ultra-low input lag setting.
In terms of connectivity, the Viewsonic XG2401 sports a DisplayPort, two HDMI inputs, one USB 2.0 input, and two USB 3.0 inputs. The stand offers easy cable management and features an integrated headphone hook. Both models were released in January 2016.
