Dell S2716DG: 144Hz 27-inch TN G-Sync Gaming Monitor

The Dell S2716DG is the first 144Hz monitor that company has to offer and we hope there will be many more to come from them. This gaming monitor is most professional looking one that we’ve seen to date and it wouldn’t look out of place in an office. It has a 27 inch display with a 2560 x 1440 resolution that most 27 inch monitors have to offer and provides a great pixel density of 109 PPI. The monitor includes NVIDIA’s G-Sync technology which helps gamers avoid stutters and judders, but due to it needing a proprietary integrated module also significantly increases the price.

At this price a deal breaker for many will be its TN panel. Many monitors at this price sport an IPS display it also has to compete with cheaper similarly specced FreeSync alternatives like the BenQ XL2730Z It advertises a 1ms response time which is usually seen with TN panels. While it offers a superior response time over its IPS panel counterparts it does not offer the kind of color reproduction they have to offer. The screen has an anti-glare matte surface with a maximum brightness 350 cd/m² and 1000:1 static contrast ratio which is in line with what other monitors in this price range have to offer.

The monitor allows users to adjust its tilt, pivot, swivel and height giving you the opportunity to easily find the optimum position. Its also VESA mounting compatible so if you’re looking to include the S2716DG into a multiple monitor setup it can be done with ease. Keep in mind that it has the typical 160°/170° viewing angle that TN panels have. In terms of connectivity, the monitor includes an HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort 1.2, and four USB 3.0 inputs.
