The ASUS PG248Q or officially known as the ASUS ROG Swift PG248Q was unveiled today at the Republic of Gamers event at Computex 2016. With this monitor, ASUS is catering to gamers who prefer a smaller display and the ability to have a full field of view available at all times. Such a feature is often sought by those in competitive gaming, especially among professional e-sports players. Couple the 24-inch size and the 1920 x 1080 resolution with a very high refresh rate and you’ve got a monitor that’ll certainly deliver a great gaming experience. This size and resolution provides a respectable pixel density of 92 PPI.
The monitor is based on a TN panel, meaning that while it won’t provide the color quality of an IPS panel it will give a lower input lag and more affordable price. This is a NVIDIA G-Sync equipped monitor, meaning that when utilized with a NVIDIA graphics card the user will be able to enjoy high-performance gaming without any tearing or jittering. The most notable thing about the ASUS PG248Q is the impressive 180Hz refresh rate, pushing the gaming monitor industry further and further beyond the 144Hz standard.
There’s no word yet on whether the monitor includes built-in speakers, if it’s VESA mount compatible, or what its connection options are. Likewise no pricing or availability details have yet been announced, however it’s been revealed that the ASUS PG248Q will be the official display of the ESL One 2016 and The International 2016. We expect this to be one of the best gaming monitors to be released this year.
